Training practice

At our practice we support the maintaining, continuation and improvement of health care in the Netherlands. Therefore we are happy to contribute to the training of new health care workers. Every year we train a doctor to become a general practitioner (called AIOS - arts in opleiding tot specialist). Besides that we also train doctor's assistants, physical assistants and accommodate medical students to do their internship at our practice.

  • AIOS (Physician in Training to become Specialist)
An AIOS is a graduated physician who is specializing to become general practitioner. For this the AIOS attends lectures at the university and does an internship in a GP practice.
Within the GP practice the AIOS carries out consultation hours and consultations for a year. The AIOS is assisted by and is under the responsibility of a supervisor (an experienced general practitioner).

    • If you think, because of the nature of your complaint, it would be better for you to be helped by your own GP, mention this when you make your appointment. Then we will take this into account.

  • co-assistant
A co-assistant is a medical student who is in training to become a basic physician. For this the co-assistant attends lectures at the university and goes through internships within various disciplines in health care, including a GP practice.
Within the GP practice the co-assistant carries out consultation hours and consultations. At the end of every consultation the supervisor is also present. The co-assistant is assisted by and is under the responsibility of the supervisor (an experienced general practitioner).
    • If you think, because of the nature of your complaint, it would be better for you to be helped by your own GP, mention this when you make an appointment by telephone. Then we will take this into account.

Because our GP practice is also a training practice it may be that a consultation takes a little longer. We ask for your understanding.
